Request Cheque Book in SBI : A Cheque is used to withdraw money from a Bank Account for making various payments. Banks provide a booklet of Cheques to serve this purpose. State Bank of India offers you to opt for Cheque Books with 25, 50 or 100 cheque leaves by online method. According to the requirement, the applicant can select for any of the 3 options to get a Cheque Book from SBI. Usually when you open a new bank account in SBI, while filling up SBI Account Opening Form you can select the option to get a Cheque Book from SBI. However, sometimes we do not need a cheque book while opening a Bank Account. In such cases, we can request for a Cheque Book in SBI later. There might be many other reasons why you may want to request for a Cheque Book in SBI.

You may want to request for Cheque Book in SBI for any of the following reasons :

Did not apply while opening a New Bank Account.

How to request Cheque Book in SBI Online through Online SBI Portal ?

Before we know the procedure to request SBI Cheque Book Online, let us know about a few important things about it.

Things to Know before you request Cheque Book Online in SBI

You need to have an Internet Banking Account in SBI in order to request Cheque Book in SBI Online.
You can request a Cheque book for Savings, Current, Cash Credit, and Over Draft accounts.
You can select from the option of 25, 50 or 100 cheque leaves in Cheque Book.
You have the option to get your Cheque Book delivered at your address registered with SBI or any other alternate address.
Your Cheque book will be dispatched within 3 working days from the date of request.
You will be charged @ Rs.3/- per cheque leaf for a Bank Account which have Quarterly Average Balance (QAB) as on previous quarter end below Rs.25,000/-. You will get the first 20 cheque leaves free.
You will be charged @ Rs 2/- per cheque leaf for a Bank Account which have QAB 25000/- and above as on previous quarter end. You will get first 50 cheque leaves free.

Steps to request Cheque Book Online in SBI through Online SBI Portal

1) Login to Online SBI Account using your Internet Banking Username and Password.

2) Select the E-Services option on the Top Menu.

3) Select the second link in the left Sidebar which says Cheque Book.

4) Select the Bank Account for which you want to request Cheque Book and choose appropriate Options to request SBI Cheque Book :

Multi City Option : Select YES if you want a Multi City Cheque Book, otherwise Select NO
Number of Cheque Books : Select the number of cheque books(1 or 2) you want to request.
Number of Cheque leaves : Select the number of Cheque Leaves you want in the Cheque Book(s) i.e., 25, 50 or 100.
Instrument Sub Category : Select the type of Cheque Book you want to request i.e., Bearer Cheque or Order Cheque.

Types of Cheques :

Bearer Cheque : The person holding the cheque can collect the amount mentioned if it is a bearer cheque.

Order Cheque : The person in whose favour the cheque is issued or a person authorized by him can only collect the amount mentioned if it is an order cheque.

Select the type of cheque book according to your need and click on Submit. This is the process to request Cheque Book in SBI through Online SBI Portal.

How to request Cheque Book in SBI Online through State Bank Anywhere App ?

All those who already have a Net Banking Account in SBI can also request a Cheque Book through State Bank Anywhere App. You just need to download this App on your Mobile phone or any other device.

Steps to request Cheque Book in SBI through State Bank Anywhere App

1) Open the State Bank Anywhere App on your Smartphone or any other Device.

2) Login by using your Internet Banking Username and Password.

3) Select the Banking option.

4) Select the Account for which you need the Cheque Book.

5) Select the No. of Cheque Books(1 or 2) and No. of Cheque Leaves(10,20 or 50).

6) Click Submit to request for Cheque Book in SBI.

Once you click on Submit, your Cheque Book request will be taken by SBI and you will receive your Cheque Book within 2-3 weeks at your address registered with SBI.

Things to know before you request Cheque Book in SBI ATM

You need to have a SBI ATM Card to request Cheque Book through ATM in SBI.
You can request a Cheque book for Savings, Current, Cash Credit, and Over Draft accounts.
Your Cheque book will be dispatched within 3 working days from the date of request.
You will be charged @ Rs.3/- per cheque leaf for a Bank Account which have Quarterly Average Balance (QAB) as on previous quarter end below Rs.25,000/-. You will get the first 20 cheque leaves free.
You will be charged @ Rs 2/- per cheque leaf for a Bank Account which have QAB 25000/- and above as on previous quarter end. You will get first 50 cheque leaves free.

Steps to request Cheque Book in SBI ATM

1) Swipe your SBI ATM Card in any SBI ATM Machine and Enter your 4 Digit PIN.

2) Select the ‘Services’ Option.

3) Select ‘Request a Cheque Book’ Option

4) ‘Confirm’ that you are sure you want to request a cheque book.

Upon successful confirmation your Cheque Book request will be taken by ATM and will receive your Cheque Book within 2-3 weeks at your address registered with SBI.
